When HP 1 was released, I was about the age of the main characters, I had read the first 4 books, and I was exactic to skive off school (with parental permission, no less) to watch the film in the cinema.
This trend continued for HP2, HP3 and HP4.
I waited paciently each Christmas time for the movies.
It was tradition.
I purchased the 5th, 6th and 7th book soon after release, reading them in less than 48 hours each, and then passing them onto others to read.
Then I grew up.
I didn’t see HP5 til I had access to the DVD.
I didn’t see HP6 til a few weeks ago at a like minded individuals gathering of computer enthusists.
I didn’t want to see HP7/1.
Until Paul’s review.
God damn it, I want to see HP7/1 now. As soon as I can. And HP7/2 when it comes out.
Screw it being a kids movie. I grew up with it. When I was in the G bracket, I was in the G demographic. It moved to more mature themes, as I grew up. And if the above article is anything to go by, I am barely old enough to understand the dark threads of mystery and horror in these latest films. And by golly, I’m excited.
Anyway, it’s tradition.
